What parts of Colorado should my family and I move to? We want a low crime rate, affordable real estate..etc?

I’m seeing mixed reviews about North Colorado from the Denver Post. I’m looking to move to the North Denver area….Louisville, Broomfield,….I would like to know what are the general pro’s and con’s to moving in that area….traffic, crime, employment, real estate..etc…any advice is welcome…..Thanks!

    The Windsor Colorado area!!!!
The crim rate is low!! Even though the tornados that just hit the east parts of windsor are very nice!! The schools are nice and there is only a little traffic!

I have just recently moved from baily, colorado. The city i lived in was beautiful! We all knew eachother and it was really nice. There hasn’t really been any crimes that go on there. We have lived there all our lives happily untill a job transfer to missouri. Im not sure about the jobs there. Real estate is a bit better then how it is in mid america i would say. Anyways, baily is a nice place! Its not one of the places you asked about but i would do anything to go back there. Good luck moving!

Castle Rock/Douglas County has a low crime rate and excellent schools. Real estate is not especially cheap, but can be cheaper than comparables in the Denver area. Louisville and Broomfield (NW Corridor) are very expensive, but nice areas. Schools are pretty good. Jobs are ok if you are in high tech or renewable energy – Boulder has a good and growing job base. Weld county (to the north) has an active and growing oil and gas job base. Talk to local realtors – they have a wealth of info.

There are a few magazines that rate the best places to live.

I personally wish I lived in northern Colorado. I spent some time there years ago and it is much different than the east coast…in a good way.

If you are looking to purchase a home when you get there, and you would like some help, email me for additional info.

I think the area you are thinking of, Louisville, Westminster, Broomfield are all great areas and here’s a little insider secret…

These areas offer some of the best views of what are called the ‘Flat Irons’ in Boulder! These are extremely beautiful rock formations that jut up into the sky and tempt courageous rock climbers to climb them.

I’ve offered some links below to some resources, but keep in mind the view you’ll have if you live closer to those flat iron views!

    Best wishes….
