Cheap vinyl siding….sorry best I can think of.

Vinyl siding is usually considered the low cost, low maintenace siding.
Cement siding, like Hardi Plank is an excellent siding. Lasts a long times, retains paint well, looks like real wood (much better than vinyl) but I don’t think you want to call it low cost even if it is less expensive than many other applications.

Vinyl is about the lowest cost and the lowest maintenance. There are other things like vinyl shakes or brick veneer, but they are much more costly.

You must be joking! Vinyl is the cheapest and easiest to install also.

Hardi-plank as has already been mentioned. No rust, no mildew, no rot, no termites, won’t chip or break, 50 year warranty, and qualifies your house as a masonite structure so it lowers your insurance. Has to be painted but that is no big deal. The costs for vinyl siding for my house was 5500-6000, 3 estimates in that range. I bought all the Hardiplank materials and did it myself for 2500. Best of luck.
